I believe every student can learn high-level mathematics. With more than 30 years in education, I've worked as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and national professional learning leader to help make that belief a reality. My experience has shown me that strong mathematics instruction requires more than adopting a high-quality curriculum. It requires the conditions that allow teachers to teach effectively and students to think, reason, and make sense of mathematics.

A PERSPECTIVE SHAPED BY THE CLASSROOM

After six years supporting schools nationally with high-quality instructional materials, I returned to the classroom for two years. That experience deepened my appreciation for the demands of teaching today and what it takes to put strong curriculum into practice. During that time, I earned my National Board Certification and brought a fresh perspective to my work with teachers and leaders.

MY WORK TODAY

Through Accelerate Math, I partner with schools and districts to strengthen Tier 1 mathematics instruction. My Accelerate Tier 1 Math Framework helps leaders examine the conditions that shape instructional practice, including leadership systems, teacher capacity, instructional quality, purposeful challenge, and student experience, to identify priorities and take meaningful action toward sustained improvement.
